Week of Feb. 3: K-1st Grade Bulldogs of the Week

For science, Mrs. Godfrey's kindergarten class predicted whether bubbles will freeze or not in the cold temperatures. They discussed what they thought will happen to the bubbles when the temperature drops. Students were able to think critically and make predictions based on their experiences. Although the bubbles didn't completely freeze, the solution began to change color as the bubbles floated away.

A big thank you to our local physician Dr. Matthew Told! He helped lead the “growth & development” lessons for our GEMS 5th and 6th graders. We always appreciate the presence of our community professionals. Thanks, Dr. Told!

Mrs. Rambo's third-grade class earned a snow party with hot chocolate last November. They had to wait until the snow came to receive that reward. The class loved building snowmen, snow forts, and burying each other in the snow. They ended the experience with hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream in the classroom.

The student council at GEMS accepted a $1200 check from the recent blood drive. These funds will go to providing STEM activities for our middle school students. We appreciate the community members who participated in the blood drive!

This announcement is for Mountain View School District parents and students within the Elk City, Grangeville, and Kooskia communities.
Weather conditions require a 2-hour Late Start tomorrow, Thursday, February 6th, 2025. Bus route pick up times will be 2-hours later than regularly scheduled times. School doors will be unlocked 2-hours later than normal. The 2-hour delay will provide more time to restore power to affected areas in the district and allow for additional daylight to improve visibility when assessing icy roads. We will update you with future notifications if conditions change. Again, all Mountain View 244 schools will have a 2-hour late start February 6th. Please stay safe and warm.

I apologize if you didn't get the email this morning regarding conferences. If your family had a conference scheduled for tonight, it will be rescheduled for next Wednesday at the same time. Tomorrow's conferences will remain the same.

This announcement is for Mountain View School District parents and students within the Elk City, Grangeville, and Kooskia communities. School is cancelled tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 5th. Weather conditions make roadways and bus routes hazardous to get students to school safely. As a result of this closure, school doors will remain locked with entry not possible. We are notifying you of this cancellation so you may make plans for your children for the day. Again, all Mountain View 244 schools and activities will be cancelled February 5th. Please stay safe and warm.

The student council will be selling Valentine’s Day candy grams for $2 at lunch from February 10th to February 13th. The candy grams will be past out on February 13th.
