October is National Bullying Prevention Month. The staff at GEMS is bringing awareness to the movement by wearing orange and sharing our message.

The peer mediator program is up and running at GEMS! This is a peer to peer program that promotes conflict resolution by listening to all sides of a conflict and evaluating options to create an agreement. Here are some pictures of the mediators receiving training to support their peers during recess.

Here's some great news from Mr. Johnson!
Mrs. Wasems class earned their Class Free time in the behavior Buttons gallon jar. Each day student contribute to the button jar for good behavior. The first goal was Class Free time now the goal is Art Time.
6th graders learned about moon phases and the lunar cycle in science. We turned out the lights and used flashlights to represent the sun and a styrofoam ball represented the moon. Can you see the moon phases on the “moon”?
