To complete the requirements for their senior project at Grangeville High School, Claire Frei and Sara Kaschmitter contributed emergency buckets to our kindergarten through third grade classrooms. The hope is that another senior will continue with this as a project to equip other grade levels with this resource. Thanks, ladies!
Our mediators at GEMS have been doing an amazing job at helping students solve problems on the playground. They also serve as role models and help the younger kids with tasks such as learning how to zip up their coats.
The third grade students wrapped up their animal unit with a presentation of different animal skulls and hides. Thank you to Michael Pgefferkorn and Chantel Toliver (brought in an elk skull for us too!) for bringing in all these cool things for us to see!

We had another great week of attendance at GEMS! We stayed above 90% attendance each day with Wednesday being our best day at 96%.

The CHAS Medical Clinic in Lewiston visited GEMS yesterday and gave free eye exams to our first, third, and fifth grade students. An amazing 165 students were checked. We are so appreciative!
Ms. Becca from the LCSC Regional Mathematics Center visited GEMS to coach teachers and instruct students in engaging learning experiences.

Representatives from our local Elks Lodge gifted dictionaries to our third grade students. They will be distributing the resource to all third graders in our regional schools.
Dr. Niemela from LCSC presents came to Mrs. Barger's 8th-grade health classes to present a lesson on social media and teens' body image.
Let's start off Whoop It Up Wednesday by celebrating our Grangeville Fire Department. October is fire safety month, so our local firefighters provided the K/1 students at GEMS a lesson in practicing fire escape routes and demonstrated how they use their tools to fight fires.
