Clearwater Valley Jr/Sr High School

The Native American Middle School Basketball Game that was scheduled for tomorrow (5/22) has been postponed. A new update will be sent out as soon as it is finalized, and I will get that all out to everyone.

I wanted to get all of our HS/JH Rodeo students recognized that have been competing! I have attached some photos as well! Taya Pfefferkorn took 5th in breakaway, and they only take the top 6 in that category and she is headed to the state rodeo! Nice work Taya! Sawyer Fisher is also headed to the state rodeo! Sawyer took 1st place in the Calf Roping, 1st place in the Team Roping (Header), and he also won the average buckle for Team Roping (Header) at the District Finals and received the year end Sportsmanship Award! He is also the District All Around Reserve Cowboy! He would like to thank everyone that has helped him along the way, and to all of his sponsors! State Rodeo will be held June 8th - June 15th in Pocatello, ID at the Bannock County Event Center.

Congratulations to the CVHS track and tennis teams! Even though we did not have anyone place this year at state in track or tennis, I wanted to give a shoutout to all of the coaches, players, and to everyone that made both seasons successful! Congratulations to the CVHS baseball team for bringing home the 3rd place trophy this year in the 1A State Baseball Tournament! It was exciting to be down there in Boise at Capital HS to witness it first hand, as I am the tournament director for the 1A state baseball tournament. After a 2nd place finish last year, the Rams baseball team had to fight hard for their 3rd place finish, as they had to go to extra innings to get the win vs Troy in the 3rd/4th place game! Nice job to all of the coaches, players, and to everyone that made this a successful year! Go Rams!!!

Congratulations to our CVHS softball team that took home the 3rd place trophy this last week at the 1A State Softball Tournament in Genesee! This is the second year in a row that the CVHS softball team has taken home a trophy, as the Lady Rams brought home the 4th place trophy last year! Nice job to all of the coaches, players, and to everyone that made this year a successful year! Go Rams!!!

Congratulations to Tiago Pickering for being named this week's Ram of the Week! Tiago is a Junior on the CVHS baseball team that just finished with a 3rd place showing this last week at the 1A State Baseball Tournament this last week at Capital HS! Nice work Tiago! Go Rams!!!

Districts/Regionals get under way today! Tennis Districts are today and tomorrow at 9 am at Lake City and CDA HS. In lieu of "Stop Match Play" at CDA & Lake City HS, from 3 pm - 6 pm matches will be held at Cherry Hill Courts in CDA. This will only happen for today. Today's Events: HS Softball: CV @ Kendrick (DH) 4:30 pm & 6 pm. Just a reminder that these times changed from the original scheduled times of 4 pm & 5:30 pm. This game was originally scheduled at Nezperce, but was moved to CV because their field is not playable at all right now. HS Track: The CVHS track team travels to Lewiston today to compete in the Idaho District II Meet of Champions at 1 pm at Vollmer Bowl. Just a reminder that the Spring Concert is tonight at 6 pm in the HS Cafeteria. This is for the JH & HS Band & Choir. The Interscholastic Star scholarship program is sponsored by the Idaho High School Activities Association and First Federal Bank. The game times for the HS softball doubleheader at Kendrick tomorrow (5/2) have been moved to 4:30 pm & 6 pm. They were originally scheduled for 4 pm & 5:30 pm.

Today's HS Softball doubleheader vs Grangeville at 3 pm & 5 pm has been cancelled due to poor playing conditions and more weather moving in. This game will not be rescheduled. I know that this was Senior Night, and I will make sure one way or another that our Seniors get recognized. I will keep you updated and let you know as soon as something is in place.

I have been informed by Mr. Martinez that the Senate passed the bill that our State Youth Government students were working on. Congratulations to the HS softball team for doubling up on the Clarkston JV yesterday with 2 wins. The Rams won the first game 8-2 and the second game 2-1. The Lady Rams will be back in action this next Tuesday, April 30th when they take on the Grangeville Bulldogs at home in a doubleheader at 3 & 5 pm. This will also be Senior Night for the softball team. The HS baseball team received a win last night by forfeit. Lapwai had to cancel last minute as they were loading on the bus to come to Lewiston to play us at Clearwater Field due to not enough players. I was also told that Lapwai will be cancelling the rest of their season as well. The baseball team will be back in action on Thursday, April 25th as they will travel to Clearwater Field in Lewiston to take on the Troy Trojans in a 1+1 (varsity plays first, then JV) contest beginning at 4 pm. Just a reminder that the HS track team is back in action today as they will travel to Prairie to compete in the Prairie HS track meet at 3:30 pm. Good Luck! Go Rams!!!
