Dual Credit/Advanced Opportunities
Dual Credit/Advanced Opportunities
Advanced Opportunities allow students to individualize their high school learning plan to get a jump start on their future. These options include dual credit, technical competency credit, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate programs. Students are eligible to receive up to $4,125 towards these opportunities to get ahead. More information about the specifics is available here: Advanced OPS.
Many of our students at CVHS get their Dual Credit courses from LCSC. We currently offer General Chemistry (CHEM 111) in person at CVHS; many more courses are available for students to take online. To view the course options and learn more about Dual Credit through LCSC, go to Dual Credit.
For students looking for options beyond LCSC, we pull many dual credit options through IDLA (Idaho Digital Learning Alliance). The option of taking dual credit classes through IDLA continues to expand as it adds more and more classes to appeal to the broad interests of today’s students. To view the options available to students through IDLA, go to Course Catalog.
We are very happy to offer these opportunities to our students and have them walk out the doors at graduation with college credits (that they got FOR FREE!). For more information about the options or how your student could maximize their opportunities, see Ms. Lacovara.
